Brief NLP Therapy provides a much needed guide to the core concepts underpinning Neuro-Linguistic Programming. With it's focus on enabling clients to find their own solutions and achieving full potential, NLP is of increasing interest to many counsellors and psychotherapists, as well as those involved in coaching.
Neuro-Linguistic Programming originated from the study of excellence in communication and in particular, the work of three outstanding therapists - Milton Erickson, Fritz Perls and Virginia Satir. Detailed observation revealed shared patterns of communication which facilitated change, healing and growth, patterns which could then be used by other therapists.
Using examples from clinical practice, the authors explain key concepts and their application within brief therapy. Chapters include 'Skill Builders' aimed at helping the reader to apply practically the NLP model and 'Transformers' which give step-by-step guidelines to brief NLP interventions. Both are designed for immediate use with clients and supervisees.
Ian McDermott and Wendy Jago present NLP as an approach not only to therapeutic work, but to life in general. This book will resonate with the many therapists who are looking to enhance their practice, but who are also interested in developing their own personal efficacy in all arenas.
A fantastic read. A must for any NLP Practitioners.

This should be on the bookshelf of every Therapist and NLP Practitioner, in the well-thumbed, falling to pieces from over use section.
